The Magic of Rapeseed Fields – Outdoor Family Photoshoot in Amesbury

The Spring is finally here and the weather is starting to be more and more generous. The end of April and the beginning of May is the time when empty fields are now turning into yellow carpets. The rapeseed fields are beautiful and magical. We are quite lucky that we live in an area with easy access to the rapeseed field. It is on our favorite path, which we take the dog for a walk almost every day.

To be honest, when you drive around the UK on a motorway you can see endless seas of bright yellow rapeseed fields but actually, there is nowhere to stop.
So if you are planning a photoshoot with your photographer, keep that in mind.

Rapeseed Fields Are The Perfect Place For A Mini Session

When deciding on a location for your photography shoot, sometimes the obvious choice is not the best. Some locations are too busy, or too far away from a city, or they’re simply boring. But every location has its merits—some are just harder to see. The Rapeseed Field is a good example of this: it’s right there in the middle of our town, but most people don’t consider it because they think it’s just one big meadow. It’s true: we’ve got a lot of open space out here in Amesbury, but the Rapeseed Field is much more than that. It’s a great place to photograph kids: all that green grass makes them look like little toys or something! Plus it’s so close to all these other cool locations, like Amesbury River Avon, Lord’s Walk, and of course the most famous Stonehenge Landscape.

Now I would like to share with you some of my favorites from this late April photoshoot. It took place in Amesbury, Wiltshire.
